Information-laced Insights on Opportunities in the
Mining Industry for Canada-based Consulting Firm

Our Client - Independent,
International Consulting Firm

Based in Canada, and founded in 1974, the client is an independent, international consulting firm, providing focused advice and solutions to clients. With 45 offices spanning across six continents, and 1400 professionals employed across the board, this high profile client is a leader in their field. The firm’s main fixation is on the earth and water industries, with leading specialists in each field of science and engineering offering in-depth and accurate guidance. When working on mining projects, the client’s services range from exploration to mine planning, production to mine closure, and all related operations in between.

Strictly a consultancy organization, the company’s independence is ensured through the fact that they hold no equity in any project. Owned primarily by internal staff, the firm’s consultants strive to offer unbiased, non-conflicting assistance and support on critical issues. As due diligence, feasibility studies, and confidential internal reviews form an important part of the client’s business; an objective approach is paramount.

Some of the firm’s 1500 clients are the world’s most prolific metal and industrial mineral mining houses, exploration companies, banks, petroleum exploration companies, construction firms, and government departments. As such, Research Optimus’ (ROP) highly experienced, objective and the dedicated team was the ideal outsourcing partner for the client’s extensive data sourcing projects.

Requirements for Data Sourcing Projects

ROP’ expert team was tasked with the provision of in-depth data on opportunities in the mining industry. We were provided with a table of content detailing five sections of research work. Our researchers were required to complete 1 of the sections, and based on the results would have the potential to complete the remaining 4.

Challenges Faced by
ROP’ Research Team

Due to the nature of the project, our team was under immense pressure to complete the first section of research as efficiently as possible. We aimed to provide thorough and accurate results well within the parameters of the deadline, to impress the client and secure the remainder of the research tasks.

ROP’ Detailed Research Process

Our team approached this project by employing a customized, step-wise approach, tailored to the client’s precise requirements:

  • We scheduled our initial meeting with the client, during which we asked pertinent questions which helped us to understand the full scope of the project.
  • Researchers and project managers worked cohesively to provide a detailed plan of action, including timelines and milestones. This plan was shared with the client.
  • The client agreed to review our work after the first section.
  • Our team assessed several mining industry resources, making sure to select only the most reliable options for the remainder of the project.
  • All collected data was carefully scrutinized by our researchers, searching for any useful patterns.
  • Once our team collected the required amount of data, the results were passed through our quality check team and passed on to the client for approval.

Benefits for the Client

The nature of the client’s requirements means that our team needed to complete a trial task which would determine whether or not ROP is the perfect fit. We are currently working on the task, making sure to provide quality research at the most affordable price possible. Our team is confident in their abilities, and we are sure that the remainder of the client’s research tasks will be passed on to us in the future.
